San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic

San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic (SACDC) is a nonprofit organization that provides free, routine dental care to homeless, uninsured, or underinsured Bexar County adults.

First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio established SACDC in 1986 as an outreach mission of the church. In 2012, the organization grew from the basement of First Baptist church downtown to a full-size, state-of-the-art dental facility on the Haven for Hope campus. We have partnered with San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic since their move to Haven for Hope when we were asked to help increase the Clinic’s digital presence and educate the community on the importance of their mission.

With a long-term partnership, our team gets to know every aspect of the organization. We have become part of the SACDC family – working on a variety of projects as their needs grow and change over time. We are currently working to implement storytelling through social media and email campaigns that communicate impact, and raise funds.

Early on, we helped the organization develop a process for receiving online donations. We then created and launched an online process for screening client applicants – rather than a manual process. We established all of their social media accounts and have managed their social media platforms in varying capacities.

Through the efforts of a stronger online presence, San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic their brand awareness has increased, and together, we have streamlined many operational processes along the way.

In this recent phase of our partnership, we are focused on fund development strategies for re-engaging individual donors and building a culture of philanthropy within the organization. We have developed an annual fundraising plan with actionable strategies. Our team has supported the Clinic through their annual fundraising appeals — from creative ideation all the way to the mailing of their appeal — and strategies for thanking their donors. We have helped with creative, personal donor engagement and fundraising events, in addition to supporting their Big Give efforts the last few years. We also support the Clinic with a variety of graphic design needs.

The Cielo Strategy Group team facilitated and implemented a strategic planning process with their Board of Directors. You can read more about our program expansion and strategic planning project here. We regularly offer coaching support to their Chief Executive Officer and staff as needed.

Our work with San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic has changed and adapted to the needs of the organization, and it is a pleasure to engage in a long-term relationship with a nonprofit where we can see and measure effectiveness and impact over time.
