In 1982 Marian Sokol, Ph.D., a special needs teacher, saw a great need among the families she served. With a small grant and in a trailer behind Santa Rosa Hospital, she began her mission of helping families with children who had a chronic illness, disability or developmental delay.
Any Baby Can serves families with children and youth facing serious health or developmental challenges at no cost to families with a child birth through 17 years old regardless of the medical diagnosis. This includes chronic illness, disability, developmental delay, or health risk.
Our partnership with Any Baby Can has centered around board governance and setting organizational priorities. The organization relies on its Board to help set its direction and to ensure that all children and families have access to support. Any Baby Can’s Board has worked to ensure continuous board education and planning are at the forefront of their governance work and as a result, their board succession planning is just that much stronger.
Cielo Strategy Group has worked with the Any Baby Can team over the past couple of years ensuring that the Board recommits annually to its roles and responsibilities through facilitated sessions focused on education, interaction, and trust-building. The Cielo Strategy Group team has worked closely with the Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair to develop sessions that are focused and fun with intentionality around creating the space Any Baby Can Board members need to identify and define organizational priorities.
